Vitalize Kitsap was co-founded by Holly Aardal and Deb Payne and its story began in 2000. What started as a gathering of middle school girls with diverse intellectual abilities ignited a flame of inclusivity and community. Over the years, this community evolved, leading to the birth of Island Time Activities (ITA) in 2011.

 

As the years passed and the girls grew, so did the size, scale, and scope of the programs and activities.  In 2020, the name was changed to "Vitalize Kitsap" to symbolize our expanded reach to encompass the entirety of Kitsap County. Today, Vitalize Kitsap proudly serves individuals of all genders, both teens and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. With a heart full of gratitude, we eagerly anticipate another remarkable 20 years of service to this extraordinary community.
