Vitalize Kitsap Hiking Club members would like to recommend a hike in the Grand Forest on Bainbridge Island. We had beautiful early spring weather yesterday, and our Hiking Club spent the day enjoying the Grand Forest network of trails. Morning Hiking Club explored Grand Forest East while Afternoon Hiking Club tackled Grand Forest West.

There are streams, bridges, incredible trees, a sunny meadow, hills and flat areas, and a number of cool surprises. Keep your eyes out for the Magic Rock and the old barn!

If you use a wheelchair, walker, or a mobility buddy to keep your footing, we think you might find the loop around the Hilltop Meadow to be the most accessible. For this, we recommend starting from the upper Grand Forest East parking area off Mandus Olson Road, or from the old barn parking area if that's open when you visit (down the dirt road from the Mandus Olson parking area).

Click here for the Bainbridge Island Parks' page with directions and full information about the Grand Forest. Click here for information about Hilltop Park, with the meadow that sits between Grand Forest West and East.
We hope you get a chance to hike the Grand Forest soon!
