To ensure access to our programming during the pandemic, Vitalize Kitsap has been providing online Zoom Club programming for all of our members. People can enroll in the Zoom Clubs of their choice, in addition to in-person Adventures & Activities sessions, or as their only participation in Vitalize Kitsap.
Zoom Clubs vary over the course of the year, but always include Afternoon Activities Club twice a week. For Winter Quarter of 2022, we are also offering Zoom Book Club, Zoom Music & Dance Club, Zoom Arts & Crafts Club, and Zoom Friday Social Club. Vitalize Kitsap members joining us via Zoom Clubs will connect with our Vitalize Kitsap staff as well as other Vitalize Kitsap members who are attending in-person Adventures & Activities Sessions.
We pack a lot of fun and friendship into our Zoom Clubs, making this a wonderful and safe way to stay connected during these challenging times. See our Calendar for current offerings and get in touch if we can answer any questions.
Adventures & Activities:
This is our classic Vitalize Kitsap programming that we’ve honed over 20 years of service to our community. Our staff works with Vitalize Kitsap members to develop daily programming that empowers Members to reach their individual goals in 7 important life areas: Communication, Education, Health, Relationships, Community, Work, and Leisure.
Adventures and Activities sessions are open to teens and adults. Each person works with our Program Director to set their own schedule for the quarter, and can choose from Full Day, Morning, or Afternoon Sessions, as space and appropriate staff support is available per individual needs. See our Calendar for current session times and days and get in touch if we can answer any questions.
Adventures and Activities sessions center around themes selected by our VK Members. Each Adventures and Activities session provides each Member opportunities to pursue their own interests in a social setting, enjoying the company of their peers. Programming changes in response to our Members’ interests and abilities. Each full day always includes group activities focused on Arts & Leisure, Health & Fitness, and Life & Job Skills.
During the pandemic, much of our Adventures & Activities programming takes place in our home base location on the north end of Bainbridge Island, as well as out in nature in many Kitsap County parks, trails, and public outdoor spaces. We’re looking forward to a safe return to indoor community locations as well!
We divide each year into seasonal quarters, Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall, and develop a unifying theme for each quarter that we explore in an interdisciplinary way. We’re also honored to have an Arts & Culture grant from the City of Bainbridge Island for 2022-2023 that will help us produce an original musical production which will be woven into our Adventures & Activities Program.
Covid Info: Vitalize Kitsap is proud to have been open during the entire Covid-19 pandemic to date, providing impactful in-person and online programming. We prioritize member, staff, and community safety so we can continue our pursuit of personal growth and community inclusion for our members. Please contact us via email, firstname.lastname@example.org if you'd like more information about our current covid safety protocols and policy.
